Try the New Google Buzz in Gmail

Google introduced its Google Buzz for Gmail today, you can check out more here at http://www.google.com/buzz

"We focused on building an easy-to-use sharing experience that richly integrates photos, videos and links, and makes it easy to share publicly or privately (so you don't have to use different tools to share with different audiences). Plus, Buzz integrates tightly with your existing Gmail inbox, so you're sure to see the stuff that matters most as it happens in real time." Official Google Blog.

It works great in mobiles also.

The buzz button didn't appear in my Gmail yet, hopefully it should be available for all users soon.

I would love to have all the Gmail features in an Outlook-like platform so I can access all the Google mail both private and business. I hope Google develops one.

Google Ad in Super Bowl XLIV Voted the Best

Google for the first time put its ad in Super Bowl XVIV and won the sixth annual, Kellogg Business of Management Super Bowl Advertising Review at the same time. The managements students from Kellogg Business of Management chose Google's ad "How to Impress a French Woman" as the best ad from a list of advertisements from major companies like Budweiser, E-Trade, Hyundai, Honda, and others.

"This year's Super Bowl featured several effective ads, making the Review an exciting learning experience for the students," said Clinical Professor of Marketing Tim Calkins, who leads the event. "The overarching goal for Super Bowl advertisers is a successful ad that resonates with their target audience. Based on our framework, Google really embraced the key elements of a winning Super Bowl commercial with both its sentimental and practical execution."

You can see the ad below.

Other features:

  • 802.11n Wi-Fi
  • 800MHz CPU
  • ARM11 Chip
  • GPS Sensor
  • T-DMB TV tuner with DivX support

Too bad it is not available in the US.

Improved Google Search Features in Gmail Labs

With Google Search in Gmail Labs, you can see improved results within your Gmail window and share it with your friends or clients. You can get better word definitions, improved business search, less misspelling search, more relevant news and weather results and others. The results are more like "I fell lucky" button Google had previously, you get more consistent results at the top of the page.

Check Official Gmail Blog for more information.

Comparison of E-reader Devices in the Market

Paidcontent.org published a good comparison of E-readers (Amazon Kindle, Sony Reader, Barnes & Noble Nook and Plastic Logic Que Reader) in the market with soon to be released Apple's iPad. It is tough to choose, but is good for consumers, with competition we will get the best ones.

Google adds Search feature in Gmail Compose Window

Previously if we had to search within Gmail without opening a new window, we needed to add the Gmail Labs search feature, which opens a small search window within Gmail. Now it is embedded in the main Compose window in Gmail. If you open your compose window now you will see a Google icon as shown above.

When you click the Google icon, it opens a small window like the Gmail Labs feature that was introduced last year. With this we can now search and get the results and add them to the new email we are composing. It is a simple addition to Gmail, but nevertheless a very useful feature.

When you are not composing, you can still use the lab feature "Google Search" to search Google when you are just browsing the emails.

Google Checkout Promo Notifier: A great shopping Chrome extension from Google

I saw this nice Google Chrome extension "Google Checkout Promotion Notifier" from Google as I was browsing the latest Google Checkout deals for Valentine's Day.

When we shop our favorite store online and if that store is offering a Google Checkout promotion then this extension will notify us about it. A small popup appears in the shopping page just below the address bar after you install this extension and lets you know about the promotion discount.

The extension will show more details about the promotion, the minimum amount required to get the discount as shown below:

This Google Checkout Promotion Notifier extension will also display a dollar sign in the address bar to inform us about any existing Google Checkout promotion deals in the site.

If you don't want to see the pop up then Google provides us with an option to disable the notification banner.

It is another great Chrome extension to have when you are shopping. If Google adds an extension for best price notifier, then it will be a perfect complement for this extension.
