Real
has started a new MP3 Store, where they sell DRM-Free MP3 songs for
$0.99 per song. The first 100,000 accounts (new or old) get $10 credit
discount.

Real is selling music for a number of years now much longer than
Apple’s iTunes, but they previously offered only licensed music
downloads. After Amazon, iTunes and others started selling MP3 songs,
Real wanted to be a part in it as well, so they have started a new MP3
Store today.

To kick start their store, Real is offering $10 credit
to purchase either a full album or 10 songs. However, this offer is
available only for the first 100,000 customers (99,999, I already
downloaded mine) and the deadline for this is July 4, 2008.

If you’re one of the first 100,000 to create an account by
Independence Day, we’ll automatically apply a $10 credit to your first
album purchase. The credit must be used by midnight Pacific time, July
4, 2008 – so sign up and start shopping today. Limit one per household.
*Full-length song plays are limited to 25 per month for non-Rhapsody
members.

The store is available online here. The Rhapsody store tries to
differentiate itself from others by letting you listen to the entire
song before you buy them, provides recommendations and provides a
high-quality MP3 downloads. You can download the songs to your iPod (or
any other MP3 player), unlike its previous store, the DRM music was not
compatible with iPod.

If you hurry, you can get this credit right away, no downloads are
necessary but you can also download the songs via their Rhapsody
download player.
