YouTube Upload Size Doubles To 2GB

YouTube announced today that it will increase the file uploads from 1GB to 2GB, so users can add HD videos easily now without the need to compress the files and editing it.

Now users can upload longer videos at high resolution as well as upload HD videos directly from cameras and smartphones like iPhone 3GS.

Another major update is users can embed HD videos directly and visitors can watch the HD videos without hitting the HD button.


How to embed HD Videos in Websites and Blogs?

1. Click the customize button at the right of the embed box in the YouTube video
2. You will see options including "play in HD", click this option.
3. Copy the embed code from the box

Click the customize button (circled in the picture) to embed HD videos from YouTube.


How to share HD Videos to friends?

To share a HD video link append "&hd=1" after you copy the YouTube video link. Your contact will see a HD video directly instead of hitting the HD button in YouTube.
